CUEMS Honored at National Collegiate EMS Conference

Cornell EMS earned multiple honors during its weekend in Washington D.C. During the annual NCEMSF Conference, CUEMS participated for the first time in the annual EMS Skills competition. Teams from around the United States and Canada were faced with three stations including a Medical, Trauma and Team Building Exercise, which tested basic Emergency Medical Technician skills and knowledge. After completing all stations, the team of four Crew Chiefs made up of Andrew Lazar, Jenna MacDonald, Vishnu Patel and Jordan Perlman were honored with Third Place out of the 29 competing BLS teams.

With the success at this year’s competition, CUEMS is excited for the chance to compete again next year. During the remaining portion of the annual awards ceremony, CUEMS was recognized for its outstanding improvements and dedication to excellence in collegiate EMS by being awarded The Striving for Excellence Award.
