Cornell EMS is a 100% volunteer, first response EMS agency, composed of members of the Cornell community, including undergraduate and graduate students, faculty and staff members. Cornell EMS is run by a ten (10) member Executive Board elected by the membership to serve for one year terms based on the academic calendar. The agency’s membership ranges in size from 60-100 members depending on the time of year with the majority of members being New York State certified Emergency Medical Technicians. All members of Cornell EMS are certified in Basic Cardiac Life Support through the American Heart Association. In addition to serving as medical providers, Cornell EMS members promote health awareness across campus through community outreach programs including AHA CPR/AED/First Aid courses, alcohol awareness, among others.
